Critical Reflection

Module Learning Before this module started, I believed that proficiency in writing and communication would allow me to excel in this module with minimal effort, and this module would help me to refresh these skills. However, as the module draws to a close, I have realised that this assumption of mine was very naive. The journey through this module has emphasised that there is ample room for significant improvement. A memorable experience within this module was the Summary Reader Response assignment. The task required me to conduct extensive research which also served as an eye-opener which allowed me to explore and research different engineering fields. Learning how to use tools like ChatGPT to generate research ideas also broadened my horizons. However, after getting back the feedback for the drafts, I realised that I tend to have fractured sentences and issues with APA7 citations. These were errors that were essential for future uses, and it is under your tutorage that I was able t

The article “Bugatti Chiron review - the final generation of Bugatti's W16 masterpiece" by Meaden (2023) provides an overview of the Bugatti Chiron, a high-performance supercar recognised for its exceptional performance. The vehicle has a robust 16-cylinder engine that produces an astounding 1479 horsepower and 1180 lb-ft of torque. The article by Meaden (2023) goes on to praise the Chiron's engine as a remarkable accomplishment in engineering, delivering immediate power throughout all engine speeds (Sands, 2015). Perkins (2022) attributes this to the "sequential setup" of turbochargers, which involves the utilisation of two turbos to optimize performance during lower engine speeds, specifically up to 3800 revolutions per minute (rpm). Upon reaching this threshold, the valve opens and activates the two remaining turbochargers (Perkins, 2022). This design maintains peak torque output within the RPM range of 2000 to 6000 (Uwaoma, 2022). The quad-turbocharger sy

Self Assessment of Student Participation

Throughout this module, I would rate my overall performance as "Good," consistently demonstrating active engagement with the course material. An example of this commitment is reflected in my involvement in the recent Design Proposal Report & Presentation project, where I invested significant effort across various project components. During peer feedback sessions, I actively listened to the different group presentations, thought of thoughtful questions for Q&A sessions, and provided constructive feedback to improve their oral presentation skills. These experiences have shaped my approach to assignments, emphasizing continuous improvement. The projects have given me a chance to gather feedback on my presentation techniques and laid a solid foundation for structured writing in future assignments. I believe this performance comes close to the goals I have set for myself at the start of a module, therefore reflecting a 'Good' standard.

Contributions to the research project

1) Wrote up on the following features: Force Sensitive Resistor Microcontroller Unit Communications Unit Flexible Solar Panels Modular Design 2) Researched and wrote about similar products and current solutions in the market UDlive Crash Barrier Sensor Viotel's SMART Barrier Sensor 3) Gathered team's opinions during meetings and helped with decision-making on the final project's product and the issues we were going to solve. We had a lot of ideas and problems we wanted to solve but we had to condense it and keep the report objective. 4) Wrote an introduction to the following parts, P of PEEL, to provide a clear and concise statement that the rest of the paragraph will elaborate on and support: Proposed Solution Sensors Evaluation Methods Force Sensitive Resistor 5) Edited the references to fit the APA7 format after consultation feedback. 6) Edited the "Methods" section to remove "we", restructuring the content.
